Getting started
- Open STEPS.
- Tap Show my steps.
- Allow STEPS to read step-count data from Apple Health.
- Your step total will appear when Apple Health has data available.
Today, Week, and Month
Use the period selector to switch between today's total, the current week's total, and the current month's total. STEPS refreshes when the app opens, becomes active, or when you choose another period.
Health data and privacy
STEPS requests read-only access to step counts. It does not write Health data and does not upload your step totals. You can review or revoke access in Apple Health or iPhone Settings. Read the full STEPS Privacy Policy.
Troubleshooting
No step total appears
Confirm that Apple Health contains step data and that STEPS is allowed to read Steps. HealthKit does not tell apps whether read access was denied, so denied access may appear as no available total.
The total differs from another app
Compare the same date period and allow Apple Health time to combine recent iPhone or Apple Watch samples. Different apps may refresh at different moments.
The app shows Offline
Tap Retry. If the issue continues, close and reopen STEPS, confirm Apple Health is available, and restart the iPhone if needed.
Large text does not fit on one screen
At accessibility text sizes, STEPS becomes scrollable and presents full-width period controls. Scroll to reach every item.
